Meet the Club
The Aerospace Club at Lehigh University is a student run organization devoted to giving undergraduate students hands on experience in aerodynamics research and aircraft design. Members are free to join existing projects or pursue their own ideas. Past and current student projects have included the design and construction of remote controlled aircraft, wind tunnel testing of airfoils and airplanes, and most notably, participation in the Design Build Fly Competition (DBF) sponsored by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). The Aerospace Club consists of 9 members who meet twice a week to develop, design, test, and review strategies for the DBF Competition in order to have a competitive and rule compliant plane ready in the Spring of 2018.

Our Goal
Lehigh Aerospace is hoping to fundraise to take the team to the Design Build Fly Competition, hosted by AIAA (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics). The club has been hugely successful thus far in the competition proposals, placing 28th out of 138 schools in the Design Proposal and being accepted into the actual competition with our Final Design Report. With the $6000 we are asking for, all 9 of our club members can attend the competition fly-off in Wichita, KS as we compete against top aerospace programs at schools around the world with our in-house optimized, designed, and constructed airplane.

How You Can Help
Your support will help lessen the financial burden of transportation and lodging for the club as it currently falls on each individual to cover costs. We are also looking for sponsors for next year’s competition submission as we continue do develop as a team and an aerospace program. No matter the size, every donation is greatly appreciated.
